For Amtrak's 40th Anniversary, four P42DC locomotives were painting in Phase I through IV paint schemes. Additionally a P40 and an F40 were also painted with the iconic Phase III stripes to haul a museum exhibition train around the country. Prior to its debut in May, the motors made several test runs along the ex-Monon Route with Train No. 850. |
