Diner-lounge car 8337 was originally New York Central 44-seat grill-diner 465 and then Penn Central 4565. It was one of 18 cars built by Budd in 1948 as NYC 450-467. Thirteen of these cars went into the Penn Central 4550-4566 series, and nine of them became Amtrak diner-lounge cars 8330-8338. The 8337 was photographed on the northbound PANAMA LIMITED, and was upgraded into Heritage Fleet diner 8513 in 1980. |
