During the Summer of 1976, the Southern Crescent frequently ran in two sections between Atlanta and Washington, D. C. Here we see E8 6900 crossing the L&N at Howell Tower on its way from the Southern's North Avenue Coach Yard to Peachtree Station with the train that will become the 1st section of #2. The E-units show Southern's Bicentennial treatment. |
