QR's northbound Sunlander makes a stop at Bundaberg late on a fall afternoon. Behind the two Clyde/GM units is 17 cars, including seven sleepers. The train operates up Queensland's east coast from Brisbane to Cairns with cars dating from the '50s. It's due to be replaced by improved Tilt Train service over through 2014. The area around Bundaberg is full of sugar cane; the town itself is famed for Bundaberg Rum. |
