The very small town of Murphy's Creek is in the Toowoomba Range about 131KM from Brisbane and 597 feet (243M) higher since leaving the coast. From here the railroad swarts up to 2% grades for roughly 17 miles before reaching the summit. Here an empty coal train behind a pair of Ciyde-GMs in Aurizon's standard "Pineapple" scheme pass the town's water tank. They're on their#way to Toowoomba and the coal fields beyond. |
