CN 2176  Contributor's Pick!       
CN local crosses S. Story St. and approaches the former S. Pierce Ave./W. 8th St. grade crossing as it heads southwest via former C&NW rails at Appleton, WI on 31 May '14. Train was heading from Stevens Point to Green Bay and had two locomotives, CN 2176 pulling and GTW 5856 pushing. For nearly a century this train would have been hidden behind the historic Pierce Manufacturing plant that occupied this city block from 1917 until it was razed ca. 2010-12.

Richard Hopfensperger General Nice. I should have documented the building in photos before it was torn down. I highly doubt the property will ever again have a business needing rail service.
