Conrail had a track inspection train that normally ran behind B23-7 1933, which was specially equipped for the task. Sometimes, on some of the less heavily trafficked lines. theyd go out with one unit and a track geometry car. Here we see such a situation, with a single GP 40-2 and Track Geometry car 21 rolling east on the Lehigh Line near Ulster PA. Its a far cry from GP 38s or C 420s in Cornell Red. |
