The long-time unused line is now being electrified as well and both tracks are being upgraded to cope with increased ore traffic between Hotazel and Port Elizabeth. At this point a temporary zig-zag switches from the older electrified track at left to an already upgraded section of the long unused track at right, with a 30 km/h speed restriction through the zig-zag. |
