PYRP crosses Terrace Drive and enters the East Binghamton yard. Power is typical, but today we have something different, rebuilt GP 38-2 7312, just in from M-K in Mountain Top PA. Note the railfan chase vehicle in the foreground. This was a Canadian built Chevy Celebrity for the Canadian market-the speed read in kilometers per hour, and the odometer counted kilometers. It took some adjusting to figure out how far and fast you were going. I got pretty good at multiplying everything by 5/8ths. |
