PRR Juniata River Railroad Bridge, 1960
Good Day. Here is an original photo that I took in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, on 25 July 1960. Shown here are two westbound Pennsylvania Railroad freight trains crossing the Juniata River Railroad Bridge at the same time. The "long" train in the foreground features gondolas filled with scrap, while the "short" train in the background includes hopper cars filled with coal. During Hurricane Agnes on 24 June 1972, the surging waters of the usually-bucolic Juniata River flowed over the top of the middle pillar! This photo was taken at the Juniata River Railroad Bridge, near Bedford Street and the Passenger Station. #11 of 12.
