Kansas City Southern E3A 22 was leading train No. 9 up the Mississippi River Bridge into Baton Rouge. No. 9 was the day train betpeen Shreveport and New Orleans, until it was discontinued in April 1968. The train's last car was a former New York Central buffet-lounge observation car, one of four which the uCS had just purchased. They were remodeled by Pullman-Standard into lunch counter-lounge cars and painted into KCS colors in 1963. (approximate day) |
