Here is page four of a four-page article by Lon Godshall & Kris Klemick entitled "Conrail's Crown Jewel: The Hollidaysburg Car Shops." It was published originally in the Summer 2005 edition of the Conrail Historical Society's magazine, page 14. Posing in front of Conrail G52L 100-ton gondola #503282 is a group of Hollidaysburg Car Shop railroaders, circa 1990. This car was once a three-bay H-43 100-ton hopper that was built in Hollidaysburg during 1964, but was later transformed into a flat-bottomed gondola in 1990 ~ a quarter of a century later! |
