The reason the Luce Line's Crow River bridge is a mix of rail and trail is because the trestle approach spans were torn out post-abandonment but the center span was retained. The result was this hybrid when the trail was built. Shame about those trestle approach spans, but you can still smell the railroad on the center span. |
