| Huntingdon. Here is the first of two successive duplicate 35mm color slides by Nelson Bowers that were taken near Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, in January of 1956. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #6816, an M-1 (4-8-2) "Mountain" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during September of 1926 and retired in June of 1959 after 33 years of faithful service. The head-end brakeman has made the cut between the tender, and will soon throw the switch so as to pick-up the boxcar on the left. |
