| A pair of trains powered by purpose-built commuter locomotives from two very different eras in railroad history pass each other just west of Hoboken Terminal. The 4517 is one of 35 ALP45-DP dual-modes delivered to NJ Transit in 2011. It pushes Train #1716 east as it meets NJ Transit's tribute to the Central Railroad of New Jersey. The 4109 is leading Train #2115 west to Spring Valley and comes from a smaller family of 13 delivered to the CNJ in October of 1968. While these two models of locomotive are vastly different from one another they both share at least one thing in common: both were built to move the commuters of New Jersey. |
