Union Pacific Big Boy 4-8-8-4 #4012 has the distinct honor of being the largest steam locomotive east of the Mississippi River in the US. It was built by Alco-Schenectady in November of 1941 and is on permanent display at Steamtown USA in Scranton. Jim Lockart slide |
