| Underneath I-80/94 expressway is the former Monon right of way. To think of the Monon locos who once traveled there heading to Hammond and passenger trains heading to and from Chicago. It will be great to have the passenger service return to Lake County again. A trip from Dyer (endpoint of the South Shore West Lake extension) to Chicago will take only 47 minutes. That cannot be done traveling by car!!!! |
