The Vertical Lift Train Bridge
This bridge has been operating since its completion in 1935. The concrete block you see at the top of the picture weighs 1,100 tons - one block on each end of the bridge. Both equaling 2,200 tons, its enough to lower and lift the 2,200 ton center piece with just a 150hp engine.
