SP purchased a large group of these Tamper switch tampers in 1990-1991. This unit has a lower number so it is likely to be a 1990 model. About 4 years old, the paint is already badly faded. Surely the same paint formula used on locomotives that were coined "Desert Storm" units due to their paint flaking off in giant patches revealing the tan primer underneath. |

This relic has somehow escaped and survived into 2011 and was hiding out in a corner in Industry. Also, notice the SP Mijack crane on the left, long out of use. The Sunset herald located on the square plate on the upper left corner of the machine is in an inconvenient location to paint out by the current owner. |
