Description:  Two days after Easter 1983, Southern Pacific SD45T-2 9353 was leading a quartet of Burlington Northern GE's - C30-7's 5133 and 5538, U30C 5307 and C30-7 5512 - north along the former Colorado & Southern at Des Moines, New Mexico. This was a 103-car SATX train on its way from San Antonio back to the Powder River Basin, and the shot was taken from U.S. Highway 87.

Penoyar who held title to several large timber tracts in the area, and who deeded the right-of-way to the California Northeastern Railroad, an SP subsidiary which actually built the section from Grass Lake to Klamath Falls in 1906-1909.
