Description:  Sharp pair of EMD F3A's built in May of 1947 for the Monon RR wearing the passenger service color scheme. It was caught by an unknown photographer across the Ohio River in the southern most trackage for the Monon, at the Louisville Union Station. Later the units would be renumbered 207 & 208. The date in 1955 is approximate.

Description:  Here is a photo by an unidentified photographer that was taken in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, on 28 May 1950. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #6404, a J-1A (2-10-4) "Texas" built in Juniata during June of 1943 and retired in November of 1958 after just 15 years of revenue service. In this context, it's pulling a high-and-wide special through the Passenger Station. Gary Mittner Collection.
