| Amtrak's northbound CRESCENT is almost finished crossing Lake Ponchartrain about a half-hour after leaving New Orleans Union Passenger Terminal on a cold (for Louisiana) Saturday morning and is about two minutes from its first station stop at Slidell, Louisiana. The US Highway 11 bridge (which the photography speedily crossed to get this image) is seen at left. |
