UP 8437 & 3813 were involved in a derailment on May 2, 2007 in Alabama when a bridge colapsed while they were transporting a train of rockect boosters from Utah to Florida for NASA's Space Shuttle. Also involved in the derailment was a ex-Southern Railway Passenger car (Warrior River) which was owned by the Promontory Chapter of the NRHS in Salt Lake City. We now have a new car (The Moonlight Dome) it is a ex-C&O 1850 |
