The former CNW Wausau Subdivision is almost all now part of the Mountain - Bay Recreational Trail. A short stretch of the line is still in use in Shawano. Here you are looking west down the line towards Wausau. The road bed to Wausau continues straight into the trees. The track curving to the right is newer, put in by the modern era Wisconsin Central to connect the former Soo Line right of way to the CNW in order to serve the Little Rapids Corporation specialty paper mill in town. |
