Here is an original photo by an unidentified photographer of an eastbound Pennsylvania Railroad freight train approaching the 24th Street Bridge in Altoona, Pennsylvania. Shown here is PRR engine #6443, a J-1 (2-10-4) "Texas" built in Juniata during November of 1943 and retired in April of 1958 after just 15 years of revenue service. Note that there is a streecar being transported on the first car of the train! The date is an approximation. Roy Healey Collection; #8 of 9. |
