WB. Here is an image of an official photo that was taken in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 27 December 1931. Prominent here are the still-smoldering ruins of several structures belonging to the Pennsylvania Railroad's Altoona Machine Shops. The fire-damaged structures were razed and never replaced. Partially visible in the center are portions of the cast-iron 12th Street Footbridge and Erecting Shop #3. William E. Burket Collection. |
