| BRT-174. Here is the first of two photos included on page 22 of the program for the "Fifty-Fifth Anniversary Celebration of United Lodge Number 174, Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen." The celebration was held at the Penn-Alto Hotel in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 30 September 1940. Posing here on the gasoline-powered yard scooter is "No. 61 Crew, Juniata Scales." The Brothers use the axe-handles to help turn the brake wheels of freight cars that are coasting down the hump. |
