ARB. Here is an original photo by an unidentified photographer that was taken in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 10 June 1954. Prominent here (R to L) is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #9685 and two more units whose road numbers are not recorded. All were built by GM-EMD and rated at 1,500 horsepower each. #9685 was constructed as an EH-15 in February of 1949, but later regeared and reclassified as an EF-15. Photo taken from the 8th Street Bridge in Juniata, facing toward the East Altoona Roundhouse. |
